Court date set in W-P lawsuit vs. Massey unit

Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. said it has won a preliminary skirmish in a lawsuit against Massey Energy Co. but acknowledged the real battle has yet to begin.
Wheeling-Pittsburgh executives said they have received notification that West Virginia State Court in Follansbee has set July 2006 to begin hearing its breach of contract suit against Central West Virginia Energy Co., a subsidiary of Richmond, Va.,-based Massey.
The steelmaker views the court date as a positive development since it has been working to have the suit heard at the state level, while Massey was looking to have it moved to a federal court.....
