Delphi spins off spaceframe welding business

Automotive components manufacturer Delphi Corp., Troy, Mich., said its Delphi Technologies Inc. subsidiary has started a new welding company to commercialize the company's deformation resistance welding (DRW) technology in the mobile spaceframe market.

The new company, called SpaceForm Inc. and based in Detroit, will get funding support from the Michigan Economic Development Corp.'s Technology Tri-Corridor program and backing from the Detroit area's Automation Alley technology business consortium.
