Brazil's Gusa Nordeste awaits pig iron gains before firing up furnace

Brazilian merchant pig iron producer Gusa Nordeste SA will continue to hold out for further market improvements before bringing on-stream its third 12,000-tonne-a-month furnace.

"The furnace was ready to start up July 15 but we still have no fixed date as to when it will start," said Silvia Nascimento, the company's sales director.....
