Ukrainian OK of export duty cut stokes fear of shortage

Ukraine's parliament has preliminarily approved a proposal to reduce export duties on ferrous scrap by 40 percent.

Deputies of the Supreme Rada voted in favor of reducing the current scrap duty of 30 euros ($35) a tonne to 25 euros ($29) beginning Jan. 1, 2006, and to 18 euros ($21) in 2007. The same two-stage reduction in scrap export duties was rejected by the Supreme Rada in September.....
