Market skeptical as USS Europe hikes flat roll

U.S. Steel Europe will raise prices on carbon flat-rolled products by 20 euros ($24) a tonne starting in the first quarter of next year, following other producers in announcing price increases.

The rise applies to hot-rolled, cold-rolled and galvanized coil from U.S. Steel Kosice s.r.o., Kosice, Slovakia, and U.S. Steel Serbia d.o.o., Smederevo, Serbia. The company, the central European operations of U.S. Steel Corp., Pittsburgh, declined to comment on the reasons for the rise.....
