Prices, supply crimp hit copper, brass exports

U.S. exports of copper and brass scrap fell 11.4 percent in September as higher prices prompted a slowdown in overseas buying.

Copper scrap exports totaled 57,936 short tons, down from 65,395 tons the previous month and 12.4 percent below the 66,146 tons shipped abroad in September last year, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Commerce Department.....
