US raw steel production decreases 1 percent

Raw steel output in the United States totaled 1,956,000 tons last week, down 1 percent from 1,976,000 tons produced the previous week, as mills operated at an average capability utilization rate of 84.6 percent.
In the corresponding week last year, mills produced 2,123,000 tons at an average capability utilization rate of 96 percent, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute, Washington.....
