China leads 3d monthly stainless export gain

Stainless steel scrap continues to show luster in offshore markets, with U.S. exports of the shiny metal increasing for the third consecutive month in September.
Shipments to foreign specialty steelmakers and scrap traders totaled 52,637 tonnes, up 17.8 percent from 44,694 tonnes in August, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Commerce Department. Export sales have risen steadily since June, when shipments slipped below the 40,000-tonne mark for the first time since January 2005.....
