BHP's Worsley boost gets environmental OK

Mining giant BHP Billiton has won environmental approval for an Australian $900-million ($668-million) expansion of its joint-venture Worsley alumina refinery in Western Australia.

BHP plans to expand the refinery to produce 4.4 million tonnes of alumina per year from 3.7 million tonnes currently. The project includes reducing emissions, rehabilitation, transportation between the bauxite mine and the plant and processing.....
