DaimlerChrysler planning van kit plant in US

DaimlerChrysler AG, Stuttgart, Germany, plans to invest $35 million to open an assembly plant in Ladson, S.C., to build Dodge Sprinter vans from kits shipped from Europe.
The plant is described as a scaled-down version of the Sprinter van plant previously planned for Pooler, Ga., which was put on hold two years ago.....
