Canada said at risk of losing edge in mining

Canada could lose its global leadership in mining because reserves were depleted during a "lost decade" of exploration, according to a senior executive at Scotia Capital, Toronto.
"Canada's base metal reserves are declining to the point that last year Canada became for the first time in its history a net importer of metal concentrate," John Eby, vice chairman of mining at Scotia Capital, said in a speech to the National Press Club of Canada in Ottawa.....
