VAW-Imco preparing to start up new German aluminum smelter

VAW-Imco Guss und Recycling GmbH will open its newest secondary aluminum smelter in Stuttgart, Germany, this month with an initial capacity of 60,000 tonnes per year.
The new facility is expected to be running at capacity by March, but it will be able to expand its output to 120,000 tonnes per year if needed, Roland Scharf-Bergmann, VAW-Imco's managing director, told industry members attending the 13th International Recycled Aluminium Conference in Cologne sponsored by AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin.....
