Steel Dynamics adding $18-million bar processing facility in Pittsboro

Steel Dynamics Inc. (SDI), Fort Wayne, Ind., plans to expand its mill in Pittsboro, Ind., to meet growing demand from customers for special bar quality (SBQ) bar.
Construction of a new $18-million, 160,000-ton-a-year bar processing facility is expected to begin this month, with start-up slated for March next year. The move is aimed at adding various downstream finishing operations that will provide essential processes and services to SDI's growing SBQ customer base, the company said in a statement.....
