Brush Wellman lands $9M award for beryllium plant

Brush Wellman Inc. said Thursday that it had landed a $9-million contract award from the U.S. Defense Department to go toward the engineering and design of a new primary beryllium facility.

The new facility, which is expected to cost between $40 million and $60 million, will be located at an existing plant site in either Elmore, Ohio, or Delta, Utah, the Cleveland-based company said. It will be owned and operated by Brush Wellman.....
