Nickel scrap exports slide 9.5% in September

Reduced sales to Canadian and British ferroalloy makers and refiners cut U.S. nickel scrap exports by 9.5 percent in September.

Shipments to foreign customers fell to 2,531 short tons from a 14-month peak of 2,796 tons in August, according to the latest statistics from the U.S. Commerce Department. Exports through the first nine months of this year totaled 18,993 tons, down 8.2 percent from 20,683 tons in the same period last year.....
