C-Com trading in ferrous scrap falls to less than 500 lots a day

Trading volumes for the ferrous scrap futures contract launched recently on the Central Japan Commodity Exchange (C-Com) have fallen to less than 500 lots a day, well below the 5,000 figure that large trading houses have said is needed before they will enter the market.

Trading volumes varied between 159 and 431 lots in the last four sessions, down from the 14,945 lots traded Oct. 11, when the contract was launched. A C-Com official said that the contract was in its early stages.....
