Hoyanger sale talks terminated, Soderberg potlines to shut down

Norsk Hydro ASA has ended negotiations to sell its Hoyanger aluminum smelter in Norway and will proceed with the planned closure of almost one-third of its production.
"Sale negotiations have been terminated. We will take 22,000 tonnes offline by the end of the first quarter (of 2006), but the other 55,000 tonnes will remain," a company spokesman said. The....
