China prepares size requirements for new lead, zinc smelter projects

China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has expanded efforts to control small-scale metal projects with a new policy aimed at the lead and zinc sector.
China's central government intends to ban construction of primary lead smelters that would produce less than 50,000 tonnes per year and secondary smelters of less than 10,000 tonnes per year, Reuters reported.....
