Jury finds no link to Parkinson's from welding

A four-week trial in Madison County, Ill., resulted in a jury verdict that welding industry attorneys said shows there is no link between mild steel welding and Parkinson's disease or similar disorders.

The jury deliberated for two hours before ruling last Thursday in favor or a group of defendants that included Praxair Inc., Union Carbide Corp., Sandvik Inc. and Lincoln Electric Co., which had been sued more than five years ago....
