Workers at Funsur tin smelter in Peru walk out

Unionized workers at Funsur SA, the smelter and refinery owned by Peruvian tin miner Minsur SA, walked off the job early Monday demanding higher pay.
"This is an indefinite strike," said Casimiro Valle, secretary general of Funsur's union. He said the smelter and refinery were shut down and the strike would cost the company roughly $1 million a day.
The Funsur smelter is located south of Lima in Pisco, Peru.
The 130 workers are demanding an increase in pay of approximately $1.50 per day. Talks broke down Friday, and according to Valle, they had not resumed Monday.....
