European stainless scrap surges $200/T on pickup in mill demand

European stainless steel scrap prices have risen $200 a tonne, with specialty scrap processors and brokers reporting a resurgence of buying from European mills.

Dealers' buying prices have reached $1,190 to $1,220 a tonne delivered for 18-8 solids from lows of $1,000 to $1,030 a month ago. Rising nickel prices combined with a pickup in demand....
