Steel buyers tightening controls on inventories, ISM survey shows

Steel buyers have shifted to lower inventory levels in recent months, according to a survey by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM), and expect to keep purchases in line during the next three to six months.
The latest survey reflecting data compiled through October by the Tempe, Ariz.,-based association's Steel Buyers Forum followed a two-month gap in reporting by the group, which a forum spokesman ascribed to "personnel changes and technical issues" in the volunteer-manned group.....
