Turkish rod mill denies US dumping charge

Turkish wire rod producer Habas Sinai ve Tibbi Gazlar Istihal Endustrisi AS has expressed surprise at being cited in a dumping complaint filed with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) against U.S. imports from China, Germany and Turkey.
"The allegations are false," a company spokesman said, noting that U.S. demand exceeded domestic supply in 2004 and 2005, the period under investigation, and that wire rod imports were necessary for the survival of many end-users. "The consumers couldn't get (wire rod) from anywhere else."....
