Vedanta OKs $2.1B Indian aluminum project

Vedanta Resources Plc's board of directors has approved the $2.1-billion Jharsuguda greenfield aluminum project in Orissa, India.
The project includes a 500,000-tonne-a-year aluminum smelter and a 1,215-megawatt thermal power plant. The Jharsuguda project will be implemented in two phases of 250,000 tonnes each. Construction is expected....
