Prices rise for 1st-qtr. offerings from Boeing Seattle-area plants

The quarterly bidding for Boeing Co.'s aluminum scrap in the Seattle area showed the bellwether grade up by nearly 7.2 percent from three months ago and other categories up by more than 20 percent.

All four lots of briquetted borings, or "pucks," to be produced in the first quarter of 2006 went for 65.16 cents a pound to Spectro Alloys Corp., Rosemount, Minn., which paid 60.8 cents a pound for the four lots in the current quarter.....
