Alcan steps back on planned Jan. Ravenswood surcharge

Alcan Rolled Products-Ravenswood has yielded to market pressure and reduced the surcharge it was set to implement to counter rising natural gas prices.
The Ravenswood, W.Va., mill said that based on the formula it announced previously, the surcharge for January should be 4.08 cents a pound. However, the actual charge passed on will be only 2 cents a pound.....
