China on track to hit 2005 target as Nov. steel output rises 25.5%

China produced 317.7 million tonnes of steel in the first 11 months of the year, up 25.5 percent from the comparable 2004 period, according to figures from China's National Bureau of Statistics.

Output in November totaled 30.5 million tonnes, up 17.4 percent from November 2004. While output was down from the 31.7 million tonnes produced in October, it was slightly higher than the monthly totals for August....
