Shanxi Guanlu to cut aluminum production

Shanxi Guanlu Co. Ltd. will slash its aluminum output by nearly 6 percent in 2006 as production costs climb because of high alumina prices, the Chinese company said.

Shanxi Guanlu will cut production at its 40,000-tonne-per-year 75 kA aluminum potline beginning Tuesday, the company said in a statement to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. The move will shave 20,000 tonnes per year from Shanxi Guanlu's production and reduce revenue by 340 million yuan ($42.1....
