Indium prices ease as consumers bide time

Indium continues to weaken as consumers of the specialty metal hold off from re-entering the spot market in anticipation of further price decreases.

A softening in prices has also been exacerbated as falling demand sparked panic selling by smaller Chinese refineries, trade sources said.

The metal, primarily used in flat-screen televisions, has declined $20 to a range of $780 to $820 per kilogram for indium-tin-oxide (ITO) grade material.....
