Hearing on noteholders' WCI plan set for Feb.

A hearing to confirm a noteholders' plan of reorganization for WCI Steel Inc., Warren, Ohio, has tentatively been set for Feb. 6-8 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Akron, Ohio, according to the lead attorney for the noteholders.
If the plan is approved at that time, WCI would begin to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, where it has resided since September 2003.
Thomas Moers Mayer, attorney for the noteholders, said the group will file a modified plan of reorganization for the company with the court by Friday and will file a motion by Dec. 27 to confirm the plan as modified.....
