Steady demand buttressing copper premiums

A combination of firm demand and high freight costs will keep copper premiums up well into the New Year, sources said this week.
Premiums are currently in a range of 6.75 cents to 7.25 cents a pound, delivered to U.S. destinations.
Manufacturers are reporting solid order books for December and January, bucking the seasonal slowdown normal for this time of year, sources said.The forecast comes as copper fabricators report steady demand from customers in the construction, connectors and telecommunications industries.....
