Stainless output logs 9-month gain but long-term trend is down ISSF

World stainless steel production rose slightly during the first nine months this year against the comparable period last year, according to the latest data from the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF). However, it is not a trend that's likely to continue, the trade group said.
During the first nine months of 2005, the Brussels, Belgium,-based organization, an affiliate of the International Iron and Steel Institute, said world stainless steel production totaled 18.4 million tonnes, up 1.1 percent from January-to-September 2004.....
