Braam to succeed Matera as CEO of Synalloy

Synalloy Corp.'s board of directors has elected Ronald H. Braam as the company's new chief executive officer.

Braam takes over Jan. 1, 2006, succeeding Ralph Matera, who resigned effective Sept. 30 (AMM, Aug. 22).

Braam was president of Manufacturers Soap & Chemical Co., Cleveland, Tenn., when Synalloy acquired it in 1996. Under his direction, the Synalloy subsidiary has increased sales 122 percent through a combination of internal growth and acquisitions. He has assumed increasingly more responsibility in the chemical segment, culminating in his current position of president....
