Siemens unit to supply plate mill for Jindal's new steel operations

Siemens AG's Industrial Solutions and Services (I&S) division in Erlangen, Germany, has received an order to supply a 5-meter-wide plate mill to Jindal Steel & Power Ltd.'s new integrated steel plant in the Angul district of Orissa, India.
The contract is valued at 65 million euros ($77 million).
The contract for the plate mill is part of a major investment program by Jindal Steel & Power to expand its steel production capacity and to enter the steel flat products market. Product from the mill is intended for line pipe, shipbuilding and high-level building steel applications. Annual production by the new mill is projected at about 1.2 million tonnes. Startup....
