W-P melt shop in Ohio nears start, commissions 250T ladle furnace The Mingo Junction, Ohio, plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., Wheeling, W.Va., has commissioned a 250-ton, twin-station ladle furnace supplied by Core Furnace Systems Corp., Pittsburgh.The installation of the furnace is part of the latest Consteel melt shop being built in the United States by Techint Technologies. It is designed to continuously feed hot metal along with scrap into the new electric-arc....
