Barrick profits hit by higher costs, lower sales Barrick Gold Corp., Toronto, saw its third-quarter net income fall 8.6 percent from the same period last year as higher costs and lower sales outweighed an increase in realized gold prices.
Gold production in the quarter totaled 1.23 million ounces, keeping the company on track for estimated 2004 production of 4.9 million to 5 million ounces.....
