McAninch expects more base price increases

McAninch expects more base price increases Clarence (Mac) McAninch, president and chief executive officer of Universal Stainless & Alloy Products Inc., said there is no "pot of gold" on the other side of Chartiers Creek in Bridgeville, Pa., where the company is headquartered.
Because of that, and along with the threat of increased health-care costs, McAninch said he still sees some room for base price increases in the marketplace.
"If you take the raw materials surcharge out of the equation and push it to the side and look at the base prices today compared with three and four years ago, there's not a hell of a lot of difference today even with the substantial amount of price increases made throughout 2004. We're still not exceeding base price levels of three, four or five years ago," McAninch said during a teleconference with industry analysts.....
