SPCC mine workers set strike date, talks

Workers at Southern Peru Copper Corp.'s (SPCC) Toquepala copper mine have scheduled a strike for Nov. 3, a representative from the union confirmed.
The Lima, Peru,-based company and members of the union were scheduled to meet with labor authorities Thursday, company and union representatives said.
Workers at the Cuajone Mine haven't issued an official strike notice but have said they would strike in support of Toquepala's workers and participate in Thursday's talks, a company spokesman said.....
