Commonwealth's operations in line for a profitable 3d qtr.

Rolling mill group Commonwealth Industries Inc. said it expects to have a profitable third quarter for its continuing operations.

The announcement included per-share figures that put the anticipated net income at about $2.4 million on sales of $309 million for the Louisville, Ky.,-based company.

The sales projection is up by 39 percent from the year-earlier quarter, while aluminum shipping volumes are seen up by 30 percent.

Except for the expected costs of merging into Aleris International Inc. and other special charges and credits, the anticipated net income would be $4 million for the quarter, according to the company.....
