Russian mills have covered '04 scrap needs

Russian steel mills have covered their scrap requirements for the rest of the year, Denis Ilatovsky of Russia's JSC Mair Industrial Group told delegates at the Bureau of International Recycling's autumn convention in London.

Prices had fallen on the lower demand, according to Ilatovsky, despite record exports of 9.2 million tonnes in the first nine months of this year, up 70 percent from 2003.....
