Austria next stop for MBA to set up shop

MBA Polymers Inc. has signed a joint-venture deal to build its second overseas plant to recover plastics from mixed wastes next to its Austrian partner's metals recycling facility.
Earlier this year, the Richmond, Calif.,-based company broke ground for a similar joint venture in China with Guangzhou Iron & Steel Enterprises Holdings Ltd. (GISE), Guangzhou, China (AMM, Jan. 22).
The Austrian facility, in Kematen, will be 51-percent owned by MBA. Start-up is scheduled for late 2005, with capacity to be 40,000 tonnes a year. The formal name of the company will be MBA Polymers Austria-Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH.....
