Gold futures jump as dollar sinks to record low

Gold futures added more than $2 an ounce in midmorning trading Friday as the dollar slumped to a record low against the euro.

December gold futures on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange traded as high as $435 an ounce. The contract surpassed Thursday's high of $434 and came close to setting a 16-year high. The contract ended the day at $434.30 an....
