Silver prices could shrug off bearish fundamentals GFMS

Mine production of silver will likely rise in 2004 while demand falls, but that doesn't mean investors should expect silver prices to decline, according to Philip Klapwijk, executive chairman of London-based Gold Fields Mineral Services Ltd. (GFMS).

Speaking at the Silver Institute's annual Silver Industry Dinner in New York Monday night, Klapwijk said demand likely would fall 1.7 percent in 2004 vs. 2003 while mine production would rise by 1 percent.....
