New Jersey mercury removal bill passes state Senate by 5-0 margin

A New Jersey bill that would require automakers to fund a state program for removing mercury from defunct vehicles was approved 5 to 0 by a state Senate committee Monday.
Since the assembly previously passed the measure, the bill probably will go from the Senate Finance Committee to the state House for signature. The plan is partly modeled on a statute that was passed....
