Gold Fields' challenge vs. Harmony rejected

A federal court has denied Gold Fields Ltd.'s request for a preliminary injunction against an offer to its shareholders in the United States by fellow South African miner Harmony Gold Mining Co. Ltd.
According to Harmony, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled Tuesday that Gold Fields failed to prove any of its claims against the Gauteng-based company, including that Harmony engaged in an undisclosed concert with Gold Fields shareholder MMC Norilsk Nickel, Moscow, and had published misleading reserve estimates.....
