Despite lingering strike at El Abra, some union members back at work

A walkout at Phelps Dodge Corp.'s El Abra copper mine in northern Chile entered its 20th day Wednesday, although some miners have begun to return to work. The strike began primarily over wages.

According to Phoenix-based Phelps Dodge, production at the mine continues at normal levels, although a union representative claimed that daily production was down by 30 to 40 percent.....
