Maine moves to get the lead out at Wolman

Maine environmental officials have allocated funding to remove lead-contaminated soil at a former scrap metal yard that exited the industry more than 10 years ago.

The state's Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has ordered another round of cleanup efforts starting this week at the former Wolman Steel Co. scrapyard in Waterville, Maine, where operations ceased in 1994.....
