China too harsh on scrap errors Denbo

China's government should consider softening the retribution shippers face for relatively minor customs infractions, Joel Denbo, chairman of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), said in remarks early this month in Suzhou, China.

Speaking at a forum sponsored by the secondary metals branch of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, Denbo said ISRI had received reports of inspections where problems in a single container aboard a ship resulted all of that company's containers on the ship being rejected.....
