Attorney general files petition to close N.J. yard for cleanup

Environmental complaints dating back more the 20 years have caught the attention of New Jersey's highest law enforcement official, who this week joined state environmental officials in a fight to shut down a South Plainfield, N.J., recycler.

Attorney general Peter C. Harvey has thrown his weight behind the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), which has been pushing Boro Auto Wrecking Inc. to meet state environmental compliance regulations since the 1980s.....
