Arab steel must expand reach, merge Ezz

The Arab steel industry must unite and consolidate to survive in a global market in which "bigger is better," Ahmed Ezz, chairman and chief executive officer of Egypt's Ezz Group, told attendees at the Middle East Iron and Steel Conference sponsored by AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin.
"We must build capacities across the Middle East region--that is the only way forward I can see at this time," Ezz said. Consolidation is essential, he added. "Very high fragmentation is the problem. There are 62 different producers in the Middle East."....
